The coast and harbour of Sydney lies at the intersection of warm tropical waters flowing south with the East-Australian current, and cold southern swells pushing north. The result is a uniquely rich marine environment with 3000 identified species, including in excess of 500 varieties of fish - more than are found in the entire Mediterranean Sea.
This wondrous marine environment sits at the edge of a major metropolis of four million people yet many remain oblivious to the beautiful, complex, and fragile ecosystem beneath the surface.
These images capture just a few fleeting encounters but each is a snapshot of world so far form our own and yet to which we all belong.
